Dr Hari Sugumar is a highly accomplished cardiologist and electrophysiologist with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex heart rhythm disorders. A graduate of the University of Melbourne in 2005, he completed his cardiology training through Austin Health before undertaking advanced subspecialty training in electrophysiology, catheter ablation and cardiac devices, including pacemakers and cardiac resynchronisation therapy. His training also included advanced fellowships in Canada and Melbourne’s leading electrophysiology centres.

Dr Sugumar completed a PhD through the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and the University of Melbourne, with research focusing on atrial fibrillation and heart failure. His work has been recognised with several prestigious awards, including the NHMRC–NHF Research Fellowship and the RACP JJ Billings Award for Excellence. He has published extensively in leading international medical journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JACC, JAMA and European Heart Journal.
