These tests are performed in a hospital setting typically as an outpatient:
1. Nuclear stress test (Treadmill, bicycle, persantin or dobutamine sestamibi nuclear scan)
Performed at Peninsula Private, Beleura Private and Frankston Public Hospitals. Test takes about 4 hours. Test is performed under the supervision of other doctors. Click here to learn more.
2. Multi-slice cardiac CT scan (CT coronary angiogram)
Performed at Peninsula Private Hospital at MIA Radiology. Dr. Szto is involved in these studies, and typically reports the scan results. Test takes about 1 hour. Click here to learn more.
3. Trans-oesophageal echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart via a tube inserted down the oesophagus)
Performed at Frankston Public Hospital by other cardiologists. Also available at Monash Medical Centre. Test takes about 30 minutes, but because of intravenous sedation, the person is advised to be driven home after another 2 – 3 hours of observation. Click here to learn more.
