Office Tests

After consultation, you may be referred to have a few tests done to check for heart problems or conditions. These tests are usually performed out of Dr. Szto’s offices. These tests include the following (clicking on the links will transfer you to another section of my website):

1. Treadmill Stress Test

2. Echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart, chambers, valves etc)

3. 24-hour Holter monitor (continuous monitoring of the heart electrical rhythm)

4. 24-hour blood pressure monitor (regular 30-minutely monitoring of blood pressure for 24 hours)

5. Tilt table test (to check for causes of black-outs)

6. Pacemaker/defibrillator check

The following tests are organised through our office but not performed there:

  1. Stress nuclear scan
  2. Stress echocardiogram
  3. Trans-oesophageal echocardiogram
  4. Cardiac event monitor (2-3 week heart rhythm monitor where the patient presses a button when palpitation occurs)
  5. Multi-slice cardiac CT scan (CT coronary angiogram) – performed at MIA Radiology, Peninsula Private Hospital
